Lasting Powers of Attorney

Many people underestimate the usefulness of a Lasting Power of Attorney in the modern world.  Many people, simply believe that only the Elderly require them but this is not always the case and they can be useful in a variety of ways.

Property & Financial Matters

Can be used with the Donor’s consent whilst they have their mental capacity and then when they have lost their mental capacity (no consent required at this point)

Health & Care Decisions

Can only be used once the Donor has lost their mental capacity

The Lasting Power of Attorney is a Legal Documents (a Deed) that allows the Donor (the person creating the Lasting Power of Attorney) to appoint attorneys to assist in the management of their property and  financial affairs (if the Property and Finance Matters Lasting Power of Attorney is executed) or assist and make decisions about your health and well being – such as the kind of care you should receive and whether you give your Attorney’s permission to make decisions about life sustaining treatment on your behalf.

Both types of Lasting Powers of Attorneys can also be personalised using instructions and preferences.
